I am looking into paint protection film for my car here in the Sacramento area and trying not to rush into the first shop that pops up. For those who have done this already, how do you usually verify that an installer is legit and the work will hold up over time?

A serious installer will talk about self healing properties, UV resistance and how the film keeps the original gloss instead of just promising that your car will look new forever. Vague answers usually mean a vague result. I also pay attention to whether they clearly break down coverage options, full body versus front bumper, hood and mirrors, since that is where most of the cost difference sits. Truck owners I know say size and the condition of the paint before install matter more than the brand name on the film.
